Obama to outline oil plans in first Oval Office speech

President Obama said Tuesday that the Gulf oil spill "is an
unprecedented environmental disaster" that will be met with an
"unprecedented response."
"This is an assault on our shores and
we're going to fight back with everything we've got," he said during a
visit with military personnel at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola,
Florida.

Colorado baseball team president found dead

Colorado Rockies President Keli McGregor was found dead Tuesday
morning in a Salt Lake City, Utah, hotel, police said.
Police
received a call shortly before 9 a.m. that a man was found unconscious
in a room at the Grand America Hotel. Medics tried to revive him, police
said.

Whale grabbed ponytail, pulled trainer into tank, SeaWorld

Whale shows at SeaWorld were canceled Thursday, and officials were
re-evaluating safety procedures a day after a 12,000 pound killer whale
grabbed a trainer's ponytail, dragged her under water and killed her in
front of shocked onlookers at Shamu Stadium.

was "pulled underwater for an extended period of time," by the whale,

In late April, WHO announced the emergence of a novel influenza A virus.
This particular H1N1 strain has not circulated previously in humans. The virus is entirely new.
The virus is contagious, spreading easily from one person to another, and from one country to another. As of today, nearly 30,000 confirmed cases have been reported in 74 countries.
This is only part of the picture. With few exceptions, countries with large numbers of cases are those with good surveillance and testing procedures in place.
