The 9 worst tech movies of all time
Friday, 12.18.2009, 11:25am
Sometimes terrible movies -- the ones with such bad acting, dumb
dialogue and cheesy special effects that they're unintentionally
hilarious -- are the ones we remember the most.
No genre is
immune, but movies about technology -- ominous Web sites, evil hackers
and so on -- seem to fail more often than not. Maybe that's because
it's hard to dramatize someone sitting at a computer. Maybe it's
because Hollywood doesn't understand tech.

Microsoft help desk less busy after Windows 7
Friday, 12.18.2009, 11:16am
There are many ways to measure how Windows 7 is doing. There are
reports on new PC sales, tallies of boxed copy sales, and surveys of
planned enterprise adoption, to name a few.

Friday, 12.18.2009, 09:20am
The military is backing off its previous position and acknowledging
that some troops exposed to the burning of refuse on military bases
could be susceptible to long-term health effects.
Since the

Who's winning the 'war' on Christmas?
Friday, 12.18.2009, 08:35am
Americans are in a war that pits the politically correct against
Christmas carolers, some say. They say it's a battle that plays out in
the halls of Congress, retail stores and public schools across the
country, and it's one that's been raging for years.
Republican
Rep. Henry Brown of South Carolina introduced a resolution this month
asking that the House express support for the use of Christmas symbols
and traditions and frown on any attempt to ban references to the
holiday.

Friday, 12.18.2009, 07:27am
The rapid thud-thud-thud of military choppers overhead on Wednesday
was the first thing to catch the attention of the residents of
Cuernavaca, a city south of Mexico City known as a retreat for
city-dwellers and tourists alike.
The helicopters landed near
Punta Vista Hermosa, a majestic resort where condos sell for millions
of Mexican pesos, and before long, seemingly hundreds of military
personnel were on its grounds.

she's been in counseling since.
