High speed chase ends in Melbourne Kentucky

Saturday, 08.01.2009, 06:00pm (GMT-4)

The chase ended on Highway 8 in Melbourne when a car driven by Charles S. Tackett of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky turned onto route 8 going west bound when Debbie came up on him to fast and swerved to miss him and lost control and hit a large tree.

The 2005 Mini Van was almost torn in half but Debbie waked away with only a broken hand and some minor scrapes and bruises.

When police officers checked the vehicle they found 50 pounds of marijuana and a white substance believed to be cocaine.

"We will send the powder to the lab for further testing but we believe it to be a high grade of cocaine said Officer Baker."

When asked why she never stopped she said she was making a drug run and knew she would go to jail so she thought she could out run the police.

Debbie was taken to St. Luke East Hospital for treatment and then taken to Campbell County Jail as soon as she is able to be released.
