Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution
Monday, 03.29.2010, 07:14am
The crumply Cockney teddy bear is not here to South Beach, Atkins,
Master Cleanse or Michael Pollan your Cheez Doodle dimpled butt into
starvation or Whole Foods-based bankruptcy. He just wants you and your
kids to know what a fresh tomato looks like. And maybe eat once once in a
while. Or he'll cry.

Oscar's 'In Memoriam': Where was Farrah?
Tuesday, 03.09.2010, 04:35pm
The "In Memoriam" section has become an awards show staple: tasteful
music played under images of the past year's notable dearly departed in
that particular industry.
There will always be disagreements over the length of the piece, who
rated highest on the "death-meter" with the most applause, the music
(I'm a huge James Taylor fan, but I heard from people who thought his
rendition of "In My Life" was inappropriate or otherwise off) ... and
most of all, who is included and who is left out.

Has 'American Idol' jumped the shark
Friday, 03.05.2010, 11:41am
Over the years, "American Idol" has been a lot of things: a
launching pad for undiscovered talent, fodder for national conversation
and even a blending of politics and pop culture (remember the "red
state-blue state" debate last season during the Kris Allen-Adam Lambert
showdown?).
But never, ever has it been boring. Until now.

'Crazy Heart' songwriter finds sound of success
Saturday, 02.27.2010, 12:49pm
Ryan Bingham is not Bad Blake. Blake, the protagonist of
"Crazy Heart" (portrayed in an Oscar-nominated performance by Jeff
Bridges) spends much of the film as a study in self-destruction.
He's
alcoholic and overweight, with several ex-wives and a son who won't
speak to him. His only saving grace is the music he performs at the
only venues that will book him: dive bars and bowling alleys.

Cool Betty White is red-hot
Tuesday, 02.09.2010, 11:02am
You can't escape Betty White. Her ad for Snickers, which
debuted during the Super Bowl, was one of the most popular to air.
(It's also gone viral.) She often pops up as a late-night talk show
guest. There's also a movement afoot to have her host "Saturday Night
Live."
White's mix of grandmotherly sweetness and comic
brazenness (note her turn as a foul-mouthed widow who likes to feed the
alligators in the 1999 horror film "Lake Placid") has made her a
beloved figure to fans of all ages.

another false claim of rape, this time against a Seattle-area

From the time he putted a golf ball at the age of 2 on "The Mike Douglas Show," Tiger Woods has been a golden child.
While athletes in different professions dealt with doping scandals and other controversies, Woods continued to do what he did best: dominate the field of professional golf and rake in endorsements.
But it is that squeaky-clean image, and the tightly controlled persona Woods has cultivated over the course of his career, that experts say is fueling speculation and interest in the circumstances surrounding his recent car accident.
